Collaboration Essential for Protecting Resources, says PepsiCo Sustainability Director

Speaking at the Green Alliance/CBI Conference last week, European Sustainability Director, Martyn Seal highlighted water and agriculture as two areas where PepsiCo is using a collaborative approach to secure greater protection of resources.

The annual conference brings together leading figures from both business and sustainability, including Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and Janez Potočnik, European Commissioner for the Environment, to discuss how to put resource resilience at the heart of the green economy.

Drawing on PepsiCo UK's experience of reducing water use by 30% at its Boxford site in Suffolk, the home of Copella Apple Juice, Martyn set out PepsiCo's progress to date and outlined PepsiCo's wide-ranging environmental sustainability commitments. During his speech, Martyn also highlighted how businesses should look to create new ways of working and focus on partnerships delivering not only financial benefits but also mutual benefits from managing and reducing the use of resources such as water, fossil fuels and other limited materials.
