CNH Industrial India Wins CSR Times 2020 Gold Category Award for Prevention of Crop Stubble Burning Project

January 22, 2021 /3BL Media/ - CNH Industrial India has won the prestigious CSR Times 2020 award (Gold Category) for its Corporate Social Responsibility project: “Prevention of Crop Stubble Burning/Straw Management” in the Green and Environment Stewardship category.

Through this initiative, the Company has both raised awareness of the health, environmental and soil hazards caused by crop stubble burning, and showcased sustainable straw management solutions. This has been achieved by donating equipment and providing technical support to the Government Agricultural Departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Agricultural Universities, thereby creating possible additional revenue streams from straw bales.

The CSR Times awards focus on honouring and celebrating the innovation and significant contributions and impact that CSR practices create for the society, community and the planet.

This CSR project is currently underway in nine locations in the seven states of Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. A total of 1,877 acres farmland has been baled, producing nearly 3,551.6 tonnes of bales which helped reduce over 5,380 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

CNH Industrial India has undertaken projects through its partnerships with the Departments of Agriculture of various State Governments, as well as Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agricultural Universities and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute.
