CNH Industrial Honours Nelson Mandela by Giving Back in South Africa
CNH Industrial employees in South Africa honoured the memory of Nelson Mandela on Thursday 18th July, by giving back to the local community. Some 101 years after his birth, employees from New Holland Agriculture and IVECO brands spent the day with students at Ingqayizivele Secondary School in Tembisa, an underprivileged township in Johannesburg. The employees gave inspirational talks to the students about future job opportunities in the logistics, agriculture and transport sectors. And IVECO Stralis truck and a Daily van were also on display at the school, where students had the chance to ask our experts about them.
As a part of this initiative CNH Industrial South Africa donated backpacks and stationary to the students for their upcoming final exams. Sanitary napkins were also donated, which due to their lack of affordability, were highlighted as a key requirement for female students in the school’s community to be able to attend classes. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela
