Cities Changing Diabetes Summit 2015
November 13, 2015 /3BL Media/ - WHAT The Cities Changing Diabetes Summit will provide a unique occasion for global and local partners in the programme to connect across cities and unite against the challenge of #urbandiabetes.
As a catalyst to deliver real impact and future change, the Summit is an opportunity for those involved in the Cities Changing Diabetes programme and those with an active stake in its outcome to:
- Understand the urban diabetes challenge today, learning from leading international voices in urban diabetes, bridging the global cities and health agendas
- Be presented with pioneering academic insights from five unique cities: Mexico City, Houston, Shanghai, Tianjin and Copenhagen, and hearing from mayors and health ministers about what they have learnt and what they will do
- Understand the solutions needed by looking at the lives and circumstances of urban citizens. Through discussions with leaders and experts we can focus efforts and share what is working
- Connect across cities, disciplines and sectors. We will work together through interactive sessions, inspired by voices from leading organisations and the founding programme partners Steno Diabetes Center, UCL and Novo Nordisk.
The Cities Changing Diabetes Summit will host partnership groups from all the programme cities as well as potential future partners and leaders in the global health and cities communities.
The Cities Changing Diabetes Summit will bring together a wide range of participants with a variety of backgrounds, including leadership from Novo Nordisk, UCL and Steno Diabetes Center, Mayors and officials from the five participating cities as well as other cities, academic and other local partners, global thought leaders within diabetes and urbanisation, foundations, organisations and institutions concerned with the rise of urban diabetes.
