CITGO, Quality State and Bess the Book Bus Team Up to Fuel Good

CITGO Fueling Good winner, Bess the Book Bus, supported Wisconsin’s Sheboygan Noon Optimist Club in its annual “Back to School Basics” giveaway with a donation of more than 1,500 books.

Bess the Book Bus is a national mobile literacy outreach program sponsored by CITGO and Quality State Oil, which operates 14 Quality Q-Mart locations throughout Sheboygan County. The mobile literacy program, founded by Jennifer Frances in 2002, is dedicated to providing new books to underserved children and families throughout the country. The giveaway was held on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Longfellow Elementary School for students within the Sheboygan Area School District. In 2011, the “Back to School Basics” program provided $12,000 worth of new school supplies to more than 1,800 students. Since its inception in 1996, the program has served 18,000 children.
