CITGO Petroleum, Eight Mile Boulevard Association and Miss Michigan Team up to “Clean The D”

DETROIT, June 17, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Local CITGO Marketer Bazzi Oil & Gas Company, CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip Ambassadors Adam and Diego, Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano and Miss Michigan Haley Williams teamed up with the Eight Mile Boulevard Association (8MBA) for the 18^th annual “Clean the D” event on May 3 to revitalize the Eight Mile corridor.

“We are proud to take part in the annual ‘Clean the D’ event,” said Fadel Bazzi, owner of Bazzi Oil & Gas Company. “It has become a tradition within Bazzi Oil and an event that we look forward to each spring. We are grateful to the Eight Mile Boulevard Association and CITGO for inviting us to be a part of this event. This is an area that is integral to our business and we are proud to help restore the Eight Mile corridor.”

This year, more than 150 volunteers participated in painting projects, flower planting and trash pick-up throughout the corridor’s 27-mile stretch.

"It is inspiring to see so many volunteers come together from so many different organizations to support this cause. Eight Mile Boulevard Association (8MBA) is a non-profit organization formed in 1993 to revitalize and promote the Eight Mile business, transportation and residential corridor between I-275 (west) and I-94 (east) by linking the public and private sectors.
