Chevrolet Bringing EVs to the Masses

Electrification plays an important role in helping us meet these expectations. And Chevrolet continues to demonstrate its commitment to an electric future. This year the brand introduced four new electric vehicles that will wear the iconic Chevrolet Bowtie.

2016 Volt

Introduced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the next-generation Volt features an all-new Voltec extended range electric propulsion system, providing owners with 50 miles of EV range and a total driving range of more than 400 miles. 2016 Volt owners can expect to drive more than 1,000 miles between fill-ups when it goes on sale later this year.

Bolt EV

The Bolt EV is a game-changer. Building on lessons learned from the Volt and Spark EV, the Bolt EV is designed to offer more than a GM-estimated 200 miles of range at a target price of around $30,000 after tax incentives. It signals Chevrolet’s commitment to bring an affordable, long-range, all-electric vehicle to a wider market. The Chevrolet Bolt EV is a vehicle for everyone, not just the elite.

2016 Malibu Hybrid

Fuel efficiency is important to our customers, especially in the midsize segment. With an estimated 47 mpg combined rating, the Malibu Hybrid is unsurpassed in its segment. Besides leveraging innovation from the Chevrolet Volt, the Malibu Hybrid also has unique features that help improve aerodynamics, like upper and lower grille air shutters to improve airflow and a reduced ride height, both of which help reduce fuel consumption. The 2016 Malibu Hybrid goes on sale next spring.

Chevrolet–FNR Concept

The Chevrolet-FNR concept debuted at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show and received the Best Leading Technology Award. A self-driving EV concept designed to meet the transportation needs of the future, the Chevrolet-FNR is loaded with a range of intelligent technologies usually seen only in science fiction movies. It includes sensors and roof-mounted radar that can map out the environment to enable driverless operation, iris recognition to start the engine and software that determines optimal driving routes.
