Certified Gasolines and the CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip Team Support Pediatric Center at Staten Island University Hospital
Local CITGO Marketer and Retailers Help Area Families with Medical Expenses
Staten Island, N.Y., August 20, 2014 /3BL Media/ - On Aug. 21, New York CITGO Marketer Certified Gasolines, CITGO Petroleum Corporation, local Staten Island CITGO Retailers and the CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip team are joining forces to donate $5,500 in CITGO Gift Cards to the Pediatric Center at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH). Representatives from Certified Gasolines and Staten Island CITGO owners will join CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip hosts Adam and Diego in presenting the donation to Dr. Hadassa Teitelbaum at the SIUH North Campus located at 475 Seaview Avenue in Staten Island. The gift cards will be given to families with children who are patients at the hospital’s Pediatric Center to help them get to and from SIUH for treatment and visitation.
“Staten Island University Hospital’s commitment to our community is integral to our founding missions and as important today as it was 153 years ago,” said Donna Proske, executive director of SIUH. “Events and partnerships like the CITGO Fueling Good visit allow us to form meaningful connections with our neighbors. SIUH is very excited to welcome Adam and Diego and the Fueling Good Road Trip team to our hospital and to accept a donation from CITGO that will benefit families with children in our Pediatric Center. We look forward to more opportunities to work with Certified Gasolines and the local CITGO Retailers.”
The CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip travels across the country to meet local residents, CITGO station owners and customers and talk to the many recipients of CITGO goodwill initiatives, such as mobile campaigns to benefit charitable organizations and donation drives for local food banks and homeless shelters across the CITGO marketing footprint. The team also recognizes local heroes who are fueling good in their communities, like the Certified Gasolines team.
“On behalf of Certified Gasolines and our eight Staten Island CITGO Retailers who helped make this donation possible, we are honored to support SIUH,” added Certified Gasolines General Manager Mike Moran. “Families have enough stress when a child is sick. Being able to help ensure that parents can visit their children in the hospital and get to and from appointments without worrying about paying for fuel to make the trip is great.”
“Health is a core philosophy for CITGO, as every investment we make in the well-being of our kids is an investment in the future of our neighborhoods and communities,” said Rafael Gomez, vice president of government and public affairs for CITGO. “CITGO is proud to support SIUH and families of patients through this Fueling Good donation of CITGO Gift Cards.”
