CBRE Hosts More Than 500 Female Leaders at "Power of WE" Conference and Women's Networking Forum
Chicago, IL, October 11, 2019 - CBRE hosted its 2019 Power of WE and Women’s Networking Forum conferences at the largest company gathering of women October 1-4 in Chicago. The theme this year was “We Build Better Together,” recognizing the powerful impact of women in the company and the commercial real estate industry.
“These conferences are important personal and professional development opportunities for our members,” said Lisa Konieczka, Women’s Network chairperson and executive vice president in the company’s Chicago office. “These events allow us to collaborate and focus on driving success. We meet to build impactful relationships, discuss new ideas, improve business skills and recognize and celebrate the powerful impact of women in our organization and the industry.”
More than 500 women from CBRE and client companies attended the conferences to take part in strategy discussions, participate in networking events and hear prominent guest speakers including:
- Former White House Director of Events, Laura Schwartz;
- Executive Vice President and Women’s Network Founder and Chair, Lisa Konieczka;
- CBRE Chief Executive Officer, Bob Sulentic;
- Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, Dr. Tali Sharot;
- CBRE Board Member, Shira Goodman;
- Leadership Consultant and Best-Selling Author, Bonnie St. John;
- CBRE Head of Americas Research, Spencer Levy; and
- CBRE’s C-suite women, including Benji Baer (Chief Marketing Officer), Chandra Dhandapani (Chief Digital & Technology Officer), Darcy Mackay (Chief People Officer) and Leah Stearns (Chief Financial Officer).
The conference also included a major community service project to benefit the local nonprofit organization Bounce Children’s Foundation and its support of chronically ill children and their families.
