Carnival Cruise Lines' F.U.N. Team Served Meals to Homeless As Annual Thanksgiving Tradition
As part of an annual Thanksgiving tradition, members of Carnival Cruise Lines’ volunteer service group, the Friends Uniting Neighbors (F.U.N.) Team, prepared and served hundreds of meals at Camillus House, a homeless assistance center located in downtown Miami. More than 30 Carnival employees participated in the event, helping carve 60 turkeys for 700 homeless men and women at the facility.
Established in 1997, the F.U.N. Team is a grassroots organization that goes beyond traditional volunteer service initiatives, providing employees with opportunities to venture out into the community and offer help where it is needed most. Run by the company’s employees, the volunteer service group seeks out charitable and social service organizations on their own and then interacts with them on a more personal level through weekly service projects that take place throughout South Florida.
