Building Sustainable and Inclusive Economies in Indo-Pacific

GRI’s programs with the Australian government contribute to building a more inclusive economy that ultimately creates a higher quality of life for people across the Indo-Pacific. Working together with policymakers, regulators and enterprises from the region, GRI raises awareness and enhances reporting capacity on key sustainability issues such as gender equality and anti-corruption, to help create a more sustainable trade and investment climate in these countries.

Highlights of our work:

• Modules on gender equality and anti-corruption developed and converted into e-learning courses.
• More than 200 professionals trained in supply chain management and reporting practices.
• Over 100 professionals trained in reporting on gender equality.
• Leading organizations, such as UN Women, Transparency International, and UN Conference on Trade and Development, engaged to enhance the impact of reporting on gender equality, anticorruption, and supply chains.
• Special training developed for media and NGO representatives to understand and use reported sustainability data. Training materials translated into three languages: Burmese, Khmer, and Vietnamese.
• 119 Australian extractives in the Indo-Pacific region analyzed in a research publication to highlight sustainability reporting practices in the sector.
• 60 members of the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission introduced to sustainability reporting and standards.
