Brown-Forman Commits $25,000 to Tornado Relief Efforts
(3BL Media) Louisville, KY - March 7, 2012 - The National Weather Service survey teams have confirmed 53 tornado touchdowns during the past week, ranging from EF-1 to EF-4, followed by heavy rain and flooding in many areas, causing widespread damage and power outages. Tornado touchdowns were confirmed throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The Governors of Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri and West Virginia declared a state of emergency for their state or affected counties due to exceptional damage caused by the storm.
In an effort to offer aid to communities across the country that need it most, Brown-Forman has committed a gift of $25,000 to the American Red Cross in support of the storm victims. And because countless Brown-Forman employees have expressed great concern and want to know how they can help, we have established a Brown-Forman online donation site where employee donations will go directly to the American Red Cross helping disaster relief areas in Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, West Virginia, Alabama, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, North Carolina and Illinois.
