Bombardier Recipient of Sustainability Distinctions

Montréal, June 25, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Bombardier announced today that it has been recognized as a Canadian sustainability leader, with two distinctions highlighting its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Bombardier has ranked third among Corporate Knights’ 2014 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada list. This represents a significant increase in ranking from 11^th position in 2013. Bombardier is also sector leader within the industrials category. The Best 50 has celebrated Canada’s corporate sustainability leaders since 2002. It is based on 12 key performance indicators, spanning resource, employee and financial management. In 2014, Bombardier ranked second overall for Innovation Capacity and for Employee Turnover.

Additionally, Bombardier is among Maclean’s and L’actualité’s Top 50 Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada, as one of the top five companies in its industry grouping. The Top 50 were selected on the basis of their performance across a broad range of environmental, social, and governance indicators tracked by Sustainalytics. As examples of Bombardier’s outstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility, Maclean’s and L’actualité highlighted Bombardier’s development of the aerospace industry’s first environmental product declaration which will publicly disclose the environmental profile of the CSeries upon the aircraft’s entry-into-service, as well as the award-winning design of Portugal’s Metro do Porto light-rail system, which Bombardier completed with consortium partners.
