BMS Foundation Issues New RFP for Lung Cancer Programs in U.S.
Focus on Cancer Survivorship Care Models in Southeast States
July 20, 2016 /3BL Media/ - The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation’s Bridging Cancer CareTM initiative has announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects to design, implement and evaluate new survivorship care models for patients with lung cancer. Implementation must take place in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and/or W. Virginia.
The Foundation will award up to three, two-year grants of up to $750,000 USD each to support the design, implementation and evaluation of survivorship care models focused on improving health outcomes, including physical and mental health, as well as overall quality of life (QoL) for lung cancer survivors, their family members and/or caregivers through:
- Addressing the barriers to provision of quality survivorship care to disparate and vulnerable populations in your target area
- Filling the existing research gaps by designing and implementing innovative interventions that improve access to quality survivorship care and optimizes health beyond cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Collaborating with community-based service delivery providers such as PCP’s, oncologists, pulmonologists, radiologists, advocacy groups, payer groups, etc. to provide patient centric survivorship interventions to benefit hard to reach populations
- Empowering survivors through education and community-based support services including self-management and surveillance of their health care needs
The closing date to submit proposals is August 26, 2016.
