Earlier today, Bloomberg was named one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality, receiving a perfect score on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
Bloomberg has exemplified prominent leadership on key LGBT issues including: signing the corporate amicus filing for marriage equality before the U.S. Supreme Court, signing the Human Rights Campaign letter of corporate support for the repeal of LGBT discriminatory legislation in North Carolina, Mississippi, and Missouri and participating in a corporate amicus filing calling for the NC legislation to be overturned.
“We are extremely proud that Bloomberg has earned a perfect score on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index,” said Bloomberg’s Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Erika Irish Brown. “Today’s recognition reflects the leadership, engagement and support driving our steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion at Bloomberg.”
Bloomberg’s LGBT & Ally Community represents all three of these aspects with employee engagement in 8 chapters across the globe and Bloomberg’s Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, Paul Wood, serving as the Community’s Executive Sponsor.
Wood was recognized earlier this year on the 2016 OUTstanding and Financial Times rankings of the top 100 LGBT executives. Additionally, Bloomberg’s Chairman, Peter T. Grauer, was also honored as one of the top ten ally executives along with engineering team lead, Jason Eng, who was named one of the top 50 future LGBT leaders.
“Bloomberg is honored to be recognized for our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive workplace for all,” said Grauer. “We are grateful to the Human Rights Campaign for their leadership on such an important issue and congratulate the other organizations included on this year’s index.”
The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related corporate policies and practices, for the full list of recognized employers on this year’s 2017 Corporate Equality Index visit www.hrc.org/cei and link for the full report.
