Yesterday Bloomberg celebrated the tenth anniversary of the English PEN’s Writers in Translation program. We are proud to have supported the program from the beginning, helping to enable English PEN to translate hundreds of books from nearly 50 languages into English. By increasing access to literature and safeguarding freedom of expression, English PEN has helped ensured the best international contemporary literature makes its way to book stores in the United Kingdom and around the world.
PEN-supported writers have gone on to win prestigious prizes such as the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize, the IMPAC Award and the Marsh Award for Children’s Literature in Translation.
