Avista Operations Manager Receives Patriot Award
Recently, one of Avista’s Operations Managers received an award for providing exceptional support for employees who serve in the military. This recognition speaks to Avista’s company-wide commitment to supporting military service and the organization’s culture and environment that is based on integrity and respect.
Avista grants military absence and military time off without break in service time or benefits as required by law and in accordance with the needs of military service employees. Avista also actively works with local organizations to identify opportunities to support veterans-to-work initiatives.
The following was originally shared by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR):
Spokane, WA – Staff Sergeant Ethan Angele serves in the Air National Guard, 256 Intelligence Squadron and works for Avista Utilities. Angele said that his boss, Michael Busby, Operations Manager at Avista, is an exceptional supporter of his military service. “When I told him I had to go to military technical school, he was more excited than I was,” Angele said. “Not only is he extremely supportive, so is my whole network operations team,” Angele told his team members at the awards ceremony which took place today during their staff meeting.
Ken Isaak, ESGR Washington’s East Area Representative, explained in the award presentation, “The Patriot Award was created to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding support of their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.”
