AT&T Spotlight On: Judy Agerton
Working with someone like Judy Agerton is an inspiration.
Judy understands that the power of diversity and inclusion in the work place helps to ensure employees feel safe, valued and engaged. She constantly focuses on leveraging creative, intellectual, cultural, ethnic, generational, gender and lifestyle diversities to achieve positive outcomes across business units and within her community. Examples include her organization of monthly meetings for the Employee Resource Groups’ (ERGs) Georgia chapter presidents to collaborate with one another, improve member engagement and increase the value of the ERGs. She provides a platform to ensure that everyone is heard and all proposed ideas are valued, as well as provides resources to turn ideas into action. It is through the hard work by leaders like Judy that ERGs are able to contribute to the effective business operations of AT&T.
Promoting diversity in the workplace is a lifelong passion for Judy. In addition to her work with the ERGs, Judy devotes her personal time to mentoring minorities. She also serves as a volunteer leader in a local women and children’s shelter, where she is dedicated to the growth and development of professional women.
In recognition of her efforts to strengthen diversity within the technology community, Judy was recently honored with the Technology Association of Georgia’s Diversity Leadership Award.
The Atlanta ERGs could not be more proud of our company’s commitment to diversity and education, and we couldn’t be more proud of Judy for this very deserving recognition!
