Global technology-solutions provider Arrow Electronics is supporting a new “Sewable Tech”
course pioneered by Mouse, a national youth development nonprofit that empowers students to
create with technology to solve real problems and make meaningful change in our world.

The new Mouse course combines artistic expression and crafting with STEM (science,
technology, engineering and math) concepts to encourage interest among students from varied
technological backgrounds and interest levels. Using fabric circuit boards, conductive thread
and LED lights, students create working circuit boards and learn the fundamentals of
electronics. The course was initially piloted in Brooklyn, New York before being rolled out to
over 10,000 students across the U.S. this fall.

“Supporting Mouse and its new Sewable Tech program was a natural fit for Arrow,” said Arrow’s
Global Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Alex West, who was interviewed regarding the
program. “At Arrow, we’re always looking Five Years Out for new ways to create a 21 st -century
workforce and help guide the next generation of innovators forward.”
