Arizona State University Studies Economic Impact of Republic Services

We recently asked the Seidman Research Institute at Arizona State University to assess our economic impact. Researchers evaluated operations, payroll, purchases, and taxes, as well as secondary economic effects like consumer goods, services and the housing market.
ASU calculates the total economic impact of Republic's operations to be $9.5 billion in Gross Domestic Product. That amounts to $1.4 billion in tax revenue per year.
Researchers attribute 106,452 direct, indirect and induced jobs to Republic operations. Our average wage is $62,485, as ASU estimates the impact of our wages and benefits to be $6.5 billion annually. This means, for every Republic employee, we create 2.3 jobs elsewhere.
