Center for Corporate Citizenship
Sustainability reporting is here to stay. A full 95% of the Global 250 issue sustainability reports.
These are among the findings of the Value of Sustainability Reporting study from the Center for Corporate Citizenship and Ernst & Young LLP. Sustainability reporting provides results that:
- Increase the reputation of the company
- Increase employee loyalty and public company reputation
- Aid in refining corporate vision and strategy
- Provide transparency
- Stimulate dialogue with stakeholders
Based on these stated benefits, sustainability reporting has quickly become a best practice standard performed by many major companies worldwide. The Global Reporting Initiative, the world’s most widely accepted framework, announced the fourth generation (G4) guidelines of on May 24, 2013.
This latest version of the GRI framework contains major changes and updates to the previous G3 framework. Ron Brown, a Center instructor and a certified GRI Instructor, said of the updated G4 manuals: “These manuals are developed to enhance the understanding and application of reporting guidelines. I have personally found that these manuals are more informative and easy to navigate.” (Hear more in the Center’s webinar, Introduction to GRI Sustainability Reporting and G4.)
Although the official launch of the G4 won’t happen until November, the Center is offering a G4 Bridging Module to ensure that you are reporting in accordance with the revised standard. This certified G4 Bridging Module is designed exclusively for past participants who have completed the certified G3/G3.1 training.
The G4 Bridging Module will take place in Boston on September 18 and again in New Orleans on September 27. This course is designed to help you understand the key differences between the G3/G3.1 and G4 and how to successfully navigate the transition between the two versions.
The September 27 G4 Bridging Module is also offered in conjunction with the Center’s GRI Certified Training in New Orleans on September 25-26. Attend all three days and receive G4 certification directly from GRI.
