An app designed by a team of students from Archmere Academy in Claymont won Best in State in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge.
The app is designed to help families and friends find where their friends are in the event of a natural disaster.
The team is now eligible for Best in Region Honors, which would earn them a $5,000 grant for the school and virtual coding training from the Massachussettes Institute of Technology’s Media Lab development experts.
If they win, they would also advance to the national-level competition, which brings a $15,000 grant and tablet computers.
