Application Opens for 2020 Scotts Field Refurbishment Grant Program
Youth-serving organizations welcomed to apply and bring a renovated ballfield to their community
Scotts and MLB have a long history of giving back to local communities, teaming up to provide youth with modern, playable baseball and softball fields under the Scotts® Field Refurbishment Program. The Scotts® Field Refurbishment Program is part of the company's larger Gro More Good initiative to improve children's health and well-being through increased connection to greenspaces. This program focuses on improving fields of play and encouraging youth to get outside, get active and provides them with an opportunity to develop skills that will last a lifetime.
In 2020, the Scotts® Field Refurbishment Program will provide grants of products and services, with a value up to $50,000, to four youth-serving organizations that are in need of renovations to existing ballfields. In addition to the grant, Scotts will host special field unveiling events for the winning communities with appearances from Ryan Howard or Jennie Finch. Applications will be accepted from Dec. 10, 2019 - Jan. 31, 2020, with project work to take place in the Spring of 2020. A blue-ribbon panel of judges - including Howard, Finch, leadership from Scotts and MLB - will determine the final grantees.
