Andrew Watterson to Join BrownFlynn

Andrew brings to the firm an extensive sustainability management background, having served for more than six years in the Office of Sustainability for the City of Cleveland, most recently as the first Chief of Sustainability. In this capacity, he led the City’s Sustainable Cleveland 2019 initiative and was an ardent promoter of sustainability in the public, private and nonprofit sectors of our region. Prior to serving at the City, Andrew applied his sustainability expertise as a LEED-accredited professional in real estate and community development, focusing on green building projects and historic preservation.      Andrew’s commitment to sustainability as an economic engine for our region extends beyond his service to the City. He is active in numerous professional sustainability organizations, including the Urban Sustainability Directors Network and Planning Committee, Entrepreneurs for Sustainability and the GreenCityBlueLake Institute.    Andrew is joining a growing team at BrownFlynn that includes another recent hire, Christopher Thomas, who began as a Senior Consultant last month. Andrew‘s and Christopher‘s credentials further build upon BrownFlynn’s capacity and capabilities for serving clients‘ sustainability consulting and communications needs.   About BrownFlynn Founded in January 1996, BrownFlynn is a leading, award-winning corporate responsibility and sustainability firm.  The Firm advises Fortune 500 and privately held companies on how to integrate responsible practices into their business strategies and how to communicate these practices internally and externally for bottom-line impact. As Chief, he advised the City on policies related to energy, buildings, fleet, and purchasing, and oversaw the Office of Sustainability.   Andrew made his mark by leading the coordination of the Sustainable Cleveland 2019 initiative, an action plan established by the City to create an economic engine to empower a green city on a blue lake. Through Andrew’s focused efforts and leadership, the Office of Sustainability was successful at saving the City money while reducing the City’s ecological footprint.   Prior to working for the City of Cleveland, Andrew worked in real estate development, focusing on historic restoration and green building projects like Van Roy Coffee Building and the Cleveland Environmental Center. Andrew has a Masters of Positive Organization Development (MPOD) from the Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management, Cleveland, OH, received his BA in Environmental Policy from Bates College, Lewiston, Maine, and is a LEED-Accredited Professional in the U.S. Green Building Council.   BRFL17476
