Amway Universal Children's Day - November 20, 2013
Why was this date chosen?
Why was November 20 for the Amway Universal Children’s Day?
Amway was founded in November, 1959. That same month, on November 20, 1959, the United Nations issued the Declaration of the Rights of a Child, which said, “Mankind owes to the child the best it has to give.”
This was an extension of a challenge that the UN previously issued to every country to establish a Universal Children’s Day. Today, there are children’s days in nearly every country around the world, all on different days.
In our own attempt to provide children with the “best we have to give,” and in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the Amway One by One Campaign for Children, we established our own Amway Universal Children’s Day, not on behalf of a single country, but on behalf of Amway and our global network of people who are dedicated to improving the lives of children everywhere, and helping them to reach their potential.
