Amway at the 2016 Ideagen UN Empowering Women & Girls 2030 Summit
Today Jeff Terry, global manager for Amway corporate social responsibility, will be presenting at the U.N. during the Ideagen U.N. Empowering Women & Girls 2030 Summit.
Since 2014, Jeff and his team have worked closely with the U.N. through multiple initiatives. Amway is actively engaged in the U.N. Scaling Up Nutrition initiative and the Every Woman, Every Child Initiative; both efforts are focused on improving the nutrition and health of children globally. Additionally, Jeff serves as the only private sector representative on the U.N. Home Fortification Technical Advisory Group.
Last year, Jeff participated in a series of events as part of the U.N. General Assembly and the announcement of Sustainable Development Goals, including the goal to end all forms of malnutrition by 2030. As part of that effort, Terry represented Amway in our commitment to nearly double the reach of our Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign. Following this commitment, Amway is expanding Little Bits will help tens of thousands of children in 20 countries by the end 2019.
Ideagen bring together leading voices from the world’s top companies, non-governmental organizations and the public sector in an effort to drive collective societal impact and craft partnership to enable a future we can all take pride in.
The 2016 summit is focused on the empowerment of women and girls worldwide. Attendees will discuss the main obstacles threatening that empowerment and be encouraged to develop solutions for their organizations to combat these pressing issues.
Jeff will lead a session highlighting Amway’s work to improve the lives of women and girls through global entrepreneurship efforts and our effort to fight childhood malnutrition around the world, with representatives from key partners like CARE and Healing Fields Foundation.
Additionally, the summit will reveal the 2016 list of the top 100 individuals and organizations that empower women and girls.
Other presenters include the European Union, U.N. Women, USAID, and representatives from the White House, Red Cross, Johnson & Johnson, Lumina Foundation, Microsoft, IBM and Wells Fargo. 3BL Media will be covering the event.
