AMD Named to the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index and the 2022 Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index
By AMD Corporate
AMD continues to strive for high performance in both our products and people. We believe embracing differences amongst employees is the best way to foster a more creative and collaborative workforce – and drive business performance. We are honored to be recognized again for our equality efforts in both the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) and Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index. These two achievements highlight AMD’s commitment to building a more equitable workplace for our employees.
“We are incredibly proud that AMD was again listed in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index and Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. AMD is committed to attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining the best talent in the industry. Ensuring our culture is diverse, inclusive, and a place where every AMDer can achieve their best is part of what makes this company so special. Being included represents our commitment to improving opportunities for diverse talent at AMD, as well as positively influencing the communities where we live and work,” said Mark Pearson, Corporate Vice President Talent Development at AMD
HRC’s Corporate Equality Index measures corporate policies, practices and benefits provided to make the workplace a more inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community. For the sixth year in a row, AMD has received a score of 100% from HRC for protecting inclusivity in both benefits and overall culture for our LGBTQ+ employees. The first year we received this recognition, we had just one Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) chapter in Austin. Now at year six, we have a total of four chapters across North America and a growing number of employees actively involved.
It’s our fourth year to participate and be recognized in the Bloomberg GEI. The GEI measures gender equality and how companies are fostering more opportunities for diverse talent to succeed in their organizations. At AMD, we are committed to increasing the percentage of global female hires in engineering roles and the percentage of under-represented group hires within our U.S. workforce year over year. In 2021, we made these efforts part of our company’s strategic metrics and milestones to inform our incentive plan.
Placement on both the Gender-Equality Index and Corporate Equality Index highlights how AMD is recruiting and retaining a diverse set of employees that can share a sense of belonging in a safe workplace. Listening to employees through surveys throughout the year is one way we have and will continue to build equality at AMD.
None of this is possible without our dedicated employees, who make AMD stronger by bringing their whole selves to work every day.
