Campaign:
Lilly Strengthening Communities
One of the most coveted volunteer opportunities at Lilly is that of a Connecting Hearts Abroad ambassador. Connecting Hearts Abroad sends at least 100 employees from different countries, job levels, and roles on a two-week assignment to provide assistance in developing communities.
As Michael Cloonan, an ambassador in Peru in 2012 said, “We all go away with so much more than we leave behind.”
Of the 10 service trips planned for 2014, a majority of ambassadors will apply general skills to assist in health clinics, care for children or the elderly, or work on community development projects. Other ambassadors will apply specialized skills in science and medicine to assist Lilly NCD Partnership global health sites in India and South Africa.
