Amazin’ Mets Foundation Hosts Second Annual Homeruns & Highballs Fundraiser
FLUSHING, N.Y., August 2, 2022 /3BL Media/ - The Amazin’ Mets Foundation (AMF) hosted its second annual Homeruns & Highballs fundraiser on Monday, July 25 at Citi Field. As AMF’s largest fundraising event of the season, the event itself raised gross contributions of over $937,000 with Mets Owners Steve and Alex Cohen matching those proceeds through the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.
“Steve and I are very grateful for the generous support of our second annual fundraiser benefiting the Amazin’ Mets Foundation,” said Mrs. Alex Cohen, President of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation. “The funds raised will help us continue to seek out the needs of our community and inspire others to give back so we can leave our communities and fans better off than when we got here.”
The philanthropic event was supported by the New York Mets organization. General Manager Billy Eppler, Manager Buck Showalter and the rest of the Mets coaching staff, the entire Mets roster, and Mets Alumni, including Mike Piazza, John Franco, Mookie Wilson and Todd Zeile, were all in attendance. Attendees enjoyed Citi Field culinary favorites, games and activities, a fireworks show, and chances to bid on unique memorabilia and experiences as part of the Amazin’ Auction.
In its inaugural year, AMF funded $1.6 million in grants for 60 different organizations. This season, the Foundation plans to fund over $2 million in grants to help those in need.
The Amazin’ Mets Foundation was founded in January 2021 as the philanthropic arm of the New York Mets organization. The Foundation is committed to providing needed services and opportunities to children, families and underserved groups in our neighborhoods and communities. Together we can inspire change and make a lasting impact on and off the field.
