The Allstate Foundation and National Network to End Domestic Violence Named Finalists for U.S. Chamber Partnership Award

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Washington, D.C. - September 27, 2011 – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) announced that The Allstate Foundation and the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) are finalists for the Best Partnership Award, a category in the prestigious annual Corporate Citizenship Awards program.

The Allstate Foundation and NNEDV are recognized for their collaboration to provide services available to help domestic violence survivors better understand their personal finances and build assets. Nearly one in 4 women in the United States experience domestic violence during their lifetime. And, research shows that lacking financial knowledge and resources are the main reasons why victims of domestic violence return to or remain in abusive relationships.     The Best Partnership category honors companies and charitable organizations for working together to address important social issues. The winner of this award is determined by online public voting at www.corporatecitizenshipvote.com. Voting in the 2011 competition began Sept. 19 and will continue until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Oct. 28.   “The results of the Allstate-NNEDV partnership are not only impressive, but they also meet an incredible social need while increasing financial literacy and independence for women. This is why the U.S. Chamber is honored to recognize them as a finalist in the Best Partnership category of the 2011 Citizens Awards,” said U.S. Chamber Founder and Executive Director Stephen Jordan.   In 2010, more than 15,000 votes were cast to select the winning partnership.
