Alexion Partners With Playworks New England for Team Building Event

Recently, Alexion's Quality Systems, Standards, and Compliance Teams connected with Alexion non-profit partner, Playworks New England, for a day of team building. Playworks New England is part of a national organization that works "to improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play."

Employing the same methods that are used on the playground to empower youth to be their best, Playworks also provides team building exercises for professionals. The Playworks program taught Alexion participants a simple method for objectively resolving minor conflicts, emphasized the power and value of encouragement, and reintroduced the team to the playground classic, Four Square.

“To me, the experience was a fun reminder that deep down, behind all of the social boundaries we’ve created in the corporate, ‘adult world,’ we’re all just a bunch of 8-year old’s excited about playing Four Square,” said Chandler Hartford, Quality. “That connection builds trust which is the foundation of a great team.”

The New England Chapter of Playworks reaches over 65,000 elementary school children in 120 schools throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
