Albertsons Market Embraces Sustainability
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., April 17, 2019 /3BL Media/ – Albertson’s Market embraces the opportunity to provide environmentally-friendly choices to our guests and will fully comply with the recent city ordinance banning point-of-sale, single-use plastic bags. Albertsons Market currently pays guests five cents for each reusable bag brought for grocery purchases. Recyclable paper bags are already an option for our guests, in addition to making reusable bags readily available for purchase at a nominal cost.
Albertson’s Market and all stores of The United Family are working to provide more sustainable choices to guests. We currently provide bins for recycling single-use plastic sacks, included in the 848,000 pounds of plastic recycled during 2018. Albertson’s Market will be fully compliant with the ordinance on single-use plastic bags prior to the January 2020 implementation date.
