Aidadiva: U.S. Public Health Service Confirms the Highest Hygiene Standards On Board the AIDA Fleet
In an unannounced inspection to determine compliance with the “Vessel Sanitation Program” standards, AIDAdiva received the best-possible score: 100 out of 100 possible points. The inspection was conducted on November 3, 2015, at the port of Baltimore by the United States Public Health Service (U.S.P.H.S.).
“The United States has the strictest hygiene standards in the world for international passenger ships. Naturally, these also apply on board of all 10 AIDA ships, not only for those at U.S. ports but as well at all of our worldwide destinations,” said Harald von der Osten-Sacken, Senior Vice President Hotel Operations & Guest Experience AIDA Cruises.
For the “Vessel Sanitation Program,” points are awarded on a scale of 1 to 100 in 48 assessment categories. The inspection includes hygiene in kitchens and restaurants, food storage, water quality, and correct documentation of all hygiene measures on board.
AIDAdiva is currently on a 14-day voyage from New York to the Caribbean.
Between November 2015 and March 2016, AIDAdiva will be traveling the Caribbean islands on 14-day cruises. Departure and destination ports are La Romana in Dominican Republic or Bridgetown in Barbados.
