Accenture Releases 2010-2011 Corporate Citizenship Report
“Our Journey Forward” details commitments, goals and performance
(3BL Media) New York, NY - April 2, 2012 - Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced publication of its 2010-2011 Corporate Citizenship Report, “Our Journey Forward,” which explores the company’s goals, progress and challenges in this space. “Our Journey Forward” details Accenture’s impact during fiscal 2010 and 2011 across the five pillars of its corporate citizenship strategy: Corporate Governance, Skills to Succeed, Environment, Our People and Supply Chain. The report highlights Accenture’s corporate citizenship focus, Skills to Succeed, which aims to equip 250,000 people around the world by 2015 with the skills to get a job or build a business. Additionally, it announces that, by the end of fiscal year 2011, the initiative had already equipped more than 160,000 people—nearly two-thirds of the goal—with workplace and entrepreneurial skills.

Other key elements of the report include:
- Corporate Governance: In fiscal 2011, Accenture people completed more than 370,000 hours of ethics and compliance training, and the company has a zero-tolerance policy for corruption or serious violations of its Code of Business Ethics.
- Environment: Accenture reduced its per employee carbon emissions in fiscal 2011 by approximately 30 percent from its fiscal 2007 baseline. It also expanded its Telepresence conferencing technology to more than 85 Accenture locations around the world.
- Our People: In fiscal 2011, Accenture invested more than US$800 million in employee training and development and supported its more than 80,000 women through a variety of programs and initiatives, including customized training.
- Supply Chain: Nearly all—98 percent—of the company’s procurement proposal requests included environmental questionnaires in fiscal 2011. In the United States, the percentage of Accenture’s total procurement spend with diverse suppliers rose to 23 percent in fiscal 2011 from 21 percent in fiscal 2010.

Accenture uses Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Guidelines as a foundation for its reporting approach and has self-declared this report at Application Level B, as checked by GRI. The report serves as Accenture’s third Communication on Progress to the United Nations Global Compact, which the company signed in January 2008 and documents its progress as a member of the UN Global Compact LEAD.
Additionally, the report includes a Performance Data Table, which quantifies Accenture’s progress since fiscal 2007 on key indicators such as carbon emissions, women new hires and training spend.
