4x Recognition for HP’s Sustainability Initiatives in the Search for ‘New Heroes’
Computerworld Honors Program 2013
It’s a privilege to be named as a Laureate of the Computerworld Honors Program. And this year for HP, the recognition goes wide and deep.
HP has been named as a 2013 Laureate for four of its Sustainability and Social Innovation initiatives.
Environmental sustainability: the HP Net-Zero Data Center initiative, developing technology which may allow data centers to operate using no net energy from public utilities
Health: the rapidly deployable, fully integrated, cloud-enabled HP eHealth Center solution, which is set to dramatically expand access and improve healthcare
Education: the HP LIFE eLearning solution, now available on the HP Cloud, with the potential to empower millions of students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and small business owners
Education: the HP VideoBook solution, which turns plain text documents into media rich documents; it brings subjects to life and provides a more personalized learning experience for the students
Selection of ‘new heroes’ has been especially competitive this year for this prestigious program, celebrating its 25th anniversary. It brings together the men, women, organizations, and institutions around the world whose visionary applications of information technology promote positive social, economic, and educational change. A panel of 22 distinguished judges evaluated the humanitarian benefits and measurable results of more than 700 nominated initiatives to select 269 Laureates from 29 countries. Winners in each sector will be named at the awards ceremony in Washington DC, USA, in June.
