Why Should Your Materiality Assessment Include Value Chain Impact Mapping?
Materiality & the Value Chain:
Why Should Your Materiality Assessment Include Value Chain Impact Mapping?
COMMIT!Forum | October 8-9, 2014 | New York Downtown Marriott
A value chain map provides a snapshot of the entire product or service cycle for a company, from raw materials through to the end of use and/or disposal of products. When a company looks at its value chain through the lens of sustainability, it can uncover risks and opportunities for sustainable performance.
This workshop will explore how impact mapping can add value to a company-specific materiality assessment and facilitate the move to G4 reporting. This interactive workshop led by BrownFlynn will explore questions such as:
- What is a sustainability value chain map and how can it add value to an existing sustainability strategy?
- Is a value chain map needed for GRI G4 reporting?
- How much detail is needed in a value chain map as part of a materiality assessment?
BrownFlynn will provide real-world examples and facilitate exercises for CR practitioners to see first-hand how it’s done.
