1 is 2 Many PSA debuts on Verizon screens
Throughout the entire month of August Verizon will champion a domestic violence prevention message through a new national Public Service Announcement campaign shown on Verizon’s video, web and mobile platforms.
The 1 is 2 Many PSA features President Barack Obama, prominent athletes and sports figures speaking out against domestic abuse and dating violence. The ad targets teens and young men ages 16-24. The PSA was released in support of Vice President Joe Biden’s 1 Is 2 Many campaign, which uses technology to raise awareness and help end dating violence and sexual assault among teens and young adults.
Verizon will run the 1 is 2 Many PSA in all 17 FiOS TV markets, Verizon Wireless’s mobile devices, and the Verizon FiOS website. Donating air time and ad space is just one more way we leverage our technology to benefit society.
In 2009, Verizon launched the first national Public Service Announcement campaign to run simultaneously across wireless, online and TV platforms. We have continued to champion these maximum-impact triple-platform PSA campaigns ever since. These days, all our PSA campaigns include a spot on Verizon FiOS TV, as well as banner ads that run on Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web service and the Verizon FiOS website.
In 2011, Verizon supported 10 PSA campaigns with more than $2 million in donated air time and ad space. We’ve run PSAs to rally support for causes such as disaster relief after the earthquake in Japan and the famine relief in the Horn of Africa. We have also partnered with many non-profit organizations, including the Ad Council and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
