Wells Fargo Ranks 17th on DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity for 2014
Also ranked in Top 10 lists for LGBT, Veteran employees
New York, NY, April 29, 2014 /3BL Media/ – DiversityInc announced that Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) took the 17th spot on the 14th annual Top 50 Companies for Diversity rankings before a gathering of more than 750 attendees last evening. More than a thousand public and privately held companies competed for spots on the coveted list.
“Earning a spot on the DITop50 proves that management is paying close attention to the needs of their primary constituents—employees, customers and other key stakeholders,” said DiversityInc founder and CEO, Luke Visconti. “Companies with great reputations attract the best and most skilled employees who then create and deliver the best products and services. It’s a virtuous cycle that enables companies on the DiversityInc Top50 list to outperform major stock market indices and their peers.”
The rankings are determined using an objective methodology that calculates factors such as Talent Pipeline, Equitable Talent Development (including commitments to mentorship and philanthropy), CEO/Leadership Commitment, and Supplier Diversity. A 300-question survey provides the empirical data for the rankings. Survey participation is free to any company with at least 1,000 U.S. workers.
"Wells Fargo moved up eight spots because of improvements in talent-development, especially high-potentials from under-represented groups. A great example of the bank’s work has been an aggressive mentoring program championed by Chairman, President and CEO John Stumpf and Head of Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Jimmie Paschall."
“We view diversity and inclusion as a path to innovation for our company,” said John Stumpf, Chairman, President and CEO of Wells Fargo & Company. “Getting there means building a diverse and inclusive organization with the ability to see the world from multiple perspectives. This will help us advance our business model and strategies, capitalize on new business opportunities, and achieve long-term success in the global marketplace.”
“With more than 264,000 team members, we know there is power in mobilizing our global efforts around diversity and inclusion goals and priorities,” said Jimmie Paschall, Executive Vice President and Head of Enterprise Diversity & Inclusion at Wells Fargo. “This reinforces diversity and inclusion in our culture, open us to new ideas and competitive advantages.”
DiversityInc also ranked Wells Fargo 2nd on its Top 10 Companies for LGBT Employees list, marking the third year the financial services company has made this list.
