Trane Residential Heating and Cooling Leadership on Display at Comfortech Expo
Featured products, technology and research demonstrate profound commitment to dealer needs, homeowner comfort and convenience and environmental sustainability
ST. LOUIS, Mo., Sept. 16, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), is showcasing its leadership in home heating and cooling products and technology at Comfortech, the national HVACR, Hydronics and Plumbing Conference and Expo in St. Louis, Sept. 16-17.
“Contractors and homeowners rightfully expect a lot from their heating and cooling systems – easy and fast installation, reliable and energy efficient comfort, and innovative features and technology that are simple to use and service,” said Gary Michel, senior vice president and president, Residential HVAC, Ingersoll Rand. “With our latest line-up, Trane is delivering on all of these expectations and more. Every Trane offering is designed with the unique needs of our customers and homeowners in mind.”
Trane is showcasing several residential comfort solutions at its Comfortech booth, #665, including its award-winning variable speed technology, the latest in connected controls and home automation, new ductless and system diagnostics offerings, as well as a new dealer-designed furnace.
Industry Leadership in Products and Technology
Trane S-Series Furnace – Dealer-Inspired Design and Performance
With the S-Series Furnace, in production and debuting at Comfortech, Trane has designed its first new furnace platform in nearly 25 years. Highly knowledgeable dealers from across the country actively participated in the design of the S-Series Furnace, drawing on more than 300 years of combined experience. The result: a highly-advanced furnace designed and exhaustively tested to exceed the most stringent dealer and homeowner expectations.
Nexia Diagnostics: Dealer Knowledge, Homeowner Peace of Mind
Nexia Diagnostics is a remote HVAC system monitoring capability and represents the latest technology from Trane partner and home automation leader Nexia™ Home Intelligence. The diagnostic features work in conjunction with most Trane Wi-Fi-enabled thermostats to send real-time HVAC system performance data and alerts to installing dealers enabling the highest level of service. System alerts, from routine maintenance needs to system malfunctions, are automatically sent to the dealer, who can then proactively notify customers and address the issue immediately. If a service call is required, system data helps ensure the dealer sends the right technician with the right parts – a win for the dealer and homeowner.
Trane Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems: Outstanding energy efficiency
Trane’s Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems provide efficiency and economy with two components – an outdoor unit and one or more stylish, low profile, indoor units. Residential applications can accommodate up to nine indoor units, and commercial applications can accommodate up to 64 indoor units with a system capacity of up to 36 tons. With an integrated efficiency rating of up to 31 IEER, a Trane Variable Refrigerant Flow System could save significantly on energy costs while delivering sound levels as low as 23 dBA.
Trane TruComfortTM Variable Speed Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps: Precise comfort
The award-winning Trane TruComfort™ line of variable speed air conditioners and heat pumps delivers precise, consistent and efficient comfort at an attainable price point. The Trane XV18 and XV20i with Trane TruComfort Technology boast an energy efficiency rating of up to 22 SEER. By continuously adjusting to a home’s heating and cooling needs, Trane TruComfort maintains a consistent indoor temperature within one-half degree while providing exceptional humidity control and comfort.
Trane ComfortLinkTM II Connected Controls: Total control of home comfort
Trane connected controls offer comfort on command. The ComfortLink™ II XL950 communicates with the home’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system to direct more heated or cooled air where it’s needed, and less where it is not. Paired with NexiaTM Home Intelligence, homeowners can remotely control their home’s heating and cooling and energy usage from any Web-enabled computer or smartphone for the ultimate in convenience, reliability and control. The ComfortLink II XL850 has a 4.3-inch touchscreen and easily connects with Trane’s TruComfort Variable Speed systems. It offers Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity and includes a built-in Nexia bridge, allowing it to act as a smart home automation control center.
Industry Leadership in Comfort and Climate
Trane’s industry leadership on display at Comfortech extends beyond new products. Ingersoll Rand and Trane are helping to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges – including the unsustainable demand for energy resources and its impact on the environment.
In Sept. 2014, Ingersoll Rand made an environmental commitment to its employees, customers and shareholders – a roadmap to significantly increase energy efficiency and reduce our climate impact from our operations and product portfolio by 2030 (with milestones at 2020).
“As part of the commitment, Ingersoll Rand is investing $500 million in product-related research and development over a five-year period to fund the long-term reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,” said Michel. “Exploration of next generation low global warming potential refrigerants with strong safety, design and sustainability performance is one way that Ingersoll Rand and Trane are delivering on our environmental commitment.”
Along with third-party researchers, Trane is testing and supporting research of low-GWP refrigerants for residential applications that meet our need for safe, efficient and reliable alternatives for R410A, the current residential HVAC refrigerant standard. The latest research findings and testing from Trane, University of California, Davis – Western Cooling Efficiency Center and Oak Ridge National Laboratory will be available at the Trane Comfortech Booth.
