November 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - GreenBlue’s SPC Spring Conference 2014 is heading to Seattle, Washington, March 25-27, 2014 for three days of sustainability-centered dialogue, focusing on real-world examples of individual leadership that has resulted in breakthrough sustainability success.

“We couldn’t be happier to be holding our tenth annual conference in Seattle,” said Nina Goodrich, executive director of GreenBlue and director of the SPC, “The city is home to some of the most innovative sustainability leaders, and with Seattle as our backdrop, we know that this conference will prove to be our most successful yet. The city provides so many opportunities for attendees to see cutting edge strategies, policies, and processes in practice, and our programming reflects this with its tour-heavy agenda with visits to the Microsoft Smart Home, Safeco Field, the Cedar Grove Composting facility, and Woodinville Wine Country.”

Three days of activities, working group sessions, keynotes, and flash-talk style presentations combine to educate attendees on sustainable packaging innovations, and encourage individuals to push sustainability considerations to the forefront of design decisions in their organizations.

The SPC is recognized as the authoritative global voice on sustainable packaging, bringing together the collective wisdom of over 200 member organizations from across the entire packaging value chain. The annual Spring Conference acts as the leading forum for anyone involved in the packaging industry, including suppliers, converters, manufacturers, designers, and brand owners, to convene to discuss how to lead the industry in the direction of sustainable thinking.

This year’s theme is “Driving Innovation Through Leadership.” Following the theme, panels, presentations, and tours will focus on positive shifts currently taking place in product and packaging innovation, spotlighting individual change agents who are pushing these innovations forward. This year’s meeting will feature leaders’ personal stories on how they were able to push sustainability innovations in their organizations, giving practical ideas and solutions that attendees can take with them to enable positive change in their own organizations.

The SPC Spring Conference 2014 is supported by Seattle-based member companies Microsoft, Starbucks, and REI, as well as the Pacific Northwest Stewardship Council, who are providing leadership as advisors on the agenda, special events, and tours. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, please contact Katherine O’Dea at katherine.odea@greenblue.org.
