Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and Generation No Kid Hungry Celebrate Young People Tackling Childhood Hunger on National Youth Day
Highlighting youth-led solutions today will help ensure no child is hungry again tomorrow
GAITHERSBURG, Md., February 21, 2019 /3BL Media/ – With one out of every six children in the United States living with hunger each day, young people are leading the fight to end child hunger to make sure their peers have access to healthy meals. To celebrate the role of young people in addressing this critical issue, Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and Generation No Kid Hungry proclaim February 21 National Youth Day.
“We want to empower today’s youth because we believe they are the generation to end child hunger. We are honoring young leaders, from elementary to college students, who are dedicating their time to solving this crisis in one of the world’s wealthiest countries,” said Gerri Mason Hall, Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Chair and Chief Human Resources Officer, Sodexo North America. “By celebrating their efforts on National Youth Day, we hope to ignite the passion in other young people to join the fight against child hunger.”
“Thanks to the support from Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, Generation No Kid Hungry can provide resources and a platform for young leaders who are helping to end childhood hunger in their communities, “ said Jill Davis, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at No Kid Hungry. “Between fundraising and volunteering with local organizations, our Generation No Kid Hungry network is amplifying the issue of child hunger as well as exemplifying how it is a solvable problem. We are proud to partner with Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and celebrate National Youth Day dedicated to all young anti-hunger leaders across the country.”
