Recycled Valentines Hearts
My new (re-used) valentines hearts will be here to stay
Because I carry a tote most places I rarely see or get gift bags. But this year I received a early Valentines gift, given to me in a gift bag. I have to say that I am glad that this gift was not re-wrapped but given as is to cut down on more useless wrapping. The bag had pink tissue paper stuffed inside and although I thought the gift and bag were beautiful I knew I had to think of ways to re-use these materials...so I came up with a brown and pink heart theme for the kitchen, my own recycled Valentines Hearts! The bag allowed for one large heart (stuffed with pink tissue) and a few smaller hearts strung together to make a hanging mobile. The handles of the bag were used to hold the mobile so no materials were wasted. My kitchen hearts inspired me to use another gift bag I found when cleaning out my closet for a heart garland. I cut out numerous hearts out of this old shiny gift bag, I strung them together with a needle and thread and placed my garland on my fireplace. I have been given so many compliments on my recycled valentines hearts, that I know I will never buy decorations again! It was too much fun to think of ways to re-use items I already had. My new (re-used) valentines hearts will be here to stay... at least until I get another gift...:)
