McLean, Va., October 11, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Hilton Worldwide Team Members have spent this week spreading the light and warmth of hospitality, while helping to improve the communities where they live, work and travel.  On day six of Hilton Worldwide’s Global Week of Service, Team Members led more than 165 service projects around the world, ranging from refurbishing residential homes and community centers to helping preserve a national landmark.  All events were focused on creating long-term local impact as part of the company’s efforts to Travel with Purpose™. Visit www.hiltonworldwide.com/serve for more information about the service projects and follow @HiltonWorldwide on Twitter for the latest information and updates throughout the week.

Singapore: Hilton Worldwide volunteers, including Martin Rinck, president, Asia Pacific, dedicated two days to revitalize Sunbeam Place, a residential home for abused and neglected children, and Peace Connect, a community center for the elderly. More than 80 volunteers worked alongside residents to spruce up dorms and common areas.  Over 200 meals were served to residents between both centers over the course of the two days, and Team Members distributed nearly 300 care packages between the two centers and donated 100 bedside trolleys to Peace Connect.  Nearly 400 people were impacted by the Singapore team’s volunteer efforts.

Tokyo, Japan: More than 70 Team Members from the Hilton Worldwide JKM Regional Team, Corporate Sales Teams, Regional Japanese Elevator Trainees, Hilton Reservations & Customer Care, and Hilton Grand Vacations Club Japan teams joined forces and spent the day clearing away hundreds of pounds of rubbish and cleaning pathways following the summer hiking season at Mt. Fuji. Together with community partner Fujisan Club, an environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the natural habitat of Mt. Fuji, volunteers helped preserve the national landmark which hosts more than 300,000 climbers annually.  Preservation efforts of this national landmark are imperative for it to retain its World Heritage status with UNESCO.
