Make-A-Wish® Grants Eight Year Old's Wish to be a Doctor

Cindy, 8, was so inspired by the care she received from her doctors that she wished to be one.

Cindy surprised her Make-A-Wish® volunteer wish granters and flattered her physicians when she shared with them that her true wish is to be an ear, nose and throat doctor (ENT). The chronic lung disease that she was born with has meant many hours as a patient in her ENT’s office, but she likes it there because visits help her feel better.

Cindy’s day as an ENT was her day to help others feel better. She shadowed the staff in her orange lab coat, saw patients and wrote prescriptions.

She also boosted the spirits of the staff members, some of whom remembered seeing her as a patient and were delighted to see her having fun, learning, and getting to be a normal, healthy child.
