Honda South Carolina Donates $100,000 for Relief Efforts
The donation will be given to three community organizations

TIMMONSVILLE, S.C., October 12, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Honda of South Carolina Mfg., Inc. (HSC) today announced the donation of $100,000 in humanitarian aid to support disaster relief efforts in South Carolina communities impacted by storm damage and record floods.
The donation will be given to three community organizations providing support and assistance on the ground in the hardest-hit areas since the torrential downpours started.
- American Red Cross of Pee Dee will receive $50,000.
- Harvest Hope of the Pee Dee will receive $25,000.
- Eastern Carolina Community Foundation will receive $25,000.
“Honda and our associates want to help provide support for the many individuals and families, and our neighbors, who have been devastated by these historic floods,” said Brian Newman, president of Honda of South Carolina. “We believe it’s imperative for Honda to support our community in a time of need.”
In addition, Honda Financial Services is also working individually with customers from impacted areas, waiving late fees and granting extensions if asked.
About Honda of South Carolina Mfg., Inc.
HSC began production of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in July 1998 with a workforce of approximately 200 associates. The 200,000-square-foot ATV manufacturing plant was the beginning of Honda of South Carolina’s significant growth in Florence County. In fall 2000, operations expanded to add engine production to the plant.
Today, HSC employs 1,000 associates in its 655,480-square-foot facility. With the flexibility to produce many different types of powersports products, using domestic and globally sourced parts, associates at the Timmonsville plant currently manufacture Honda ATVs and side-by-sides for the North American market, as well as exporting globally.
