Faces Apparel Turns T-shirts Into Education For Filipino Children

The fashion business may appear shallow to many people, an image that is reinforced by media reports of sweatshops, horrific fur farms and environmental pollution through pesticides used on cotton crops and massive amounts of disposable fashion that ends up on landfills.
But, as we often report, it is not always that way, and it doesn’t have to be that way. There’s plenty of evidence of how the benign air of social responsibility is blowing through many a fashion company. For instance, Fair Trade USA has reported how its portfolio of garment companies has grown. We have also reported on consumer behavior change that tips the scale towards ethical shopping and, elsewhere, we have applauded the social mission driving the brand Indigenous.
And more good news on the fashion front keeps streaming in. Recently, socially responsible garment enterprise Faces Apparel announced it is taking its empowerment mission further afield to the Philippines.
