Bloomberg European Headquarters Named UK’s Best New Building
Bloomberg’s new European headquarters has been named the UK’s best new building the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) after an expert jury reached a “unanimous” decision. The prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize was awarded at a televised ceremony in London where the judges called the building a “once-in-a-generation project” that has “not just raised the bar for office design and city planning but smashed the ceiling.”

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) announced that Bloomberg London is on its shortlist for the 2018 Stirling Prize, the UK's highest architectural accolade.

Bloomberg Named Corporate Workplace of the Year at British Council for Offices (BCO) London Awards 2018
Bloomberg was yesterday awarded the ‘Corporate Workplace’ award at the annual British Council of Offices (BCO) Awards in London, which recognize excellence and innovation in workplace design. The award, which was accepted by Catriona Henderson, Head of Facilities for Bloomberg, EMEA and Simona Bencini, Partner & Architect, Foster + Partners, was judged by a panel of industry experts from the engineering, property, architecture, construction and design sectors who praised the Bloomberg project for “taking office building sustainability to unmatched levels of excellence.”

Innovations in sustainability are at the heart of Bloomberg’s office designs, from engineering to construction to building operations. But our new European headquarters in London is our greatest achievement in sustainability yet — in fact, it’s the world’s most sustainable office building. It scored a 98.5 percent BREEAM sustainability rating, the highest design-stage score of any major office development.

Few companies are lucky enough to have over €1bn to spend on building themselves new headquarters. But then few companies have the resources of Bloomberg, the global business and financial information company set up by Michael Bloomberg. Last October he and a team of architects from Foster + Partners unveiled a new European HQ, which was a decade in the making and now occupies a 1.3-hectare site in the City of London.

London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE to Bring Roman Temple of Mithras to Life in New Cultural Experience for the Capital
The Roman Temple of Mithras, dating from the third century, nearly 1,800 years ago, will be revealed in a unique reconstruction on the site of its original discovery in the heart of the City of London. London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE is a free new cultural destination created as part of the development of Bloomberg’s new European headquarters. It opens to the public on Tuesday, 14 November 2017.
