Honda Alternative Energy
Reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change is the single biggest step Honda can take to reduce the environmental impact of our products.
In June 2011, Honda voluntarily pledged that by the end of 2020, we would reduce CO2 emissions by 30% from our 2000 levels for our global products, including automobiles, motorcycles/ATVs and power equipment. We’re also committed to reducing CO2 emissions from all corporate activities including manufacturing and distribution. Now, we are asking our network of more than 600 North American parts suppliers and more than 1,300 U.S. Honda and Acura dealers to reduce their carbon footprint as well.
Honda has an impressive history of achieving such goals. In 2010, we reached our voluntary goal set in 2006 to reduce global CO2 emissions from global products by 10%, compared to 2000 levels.
