The Global Cities Initiative

Only a few weeks after Denver launched its first nonstop flight to Asia—landing in Tokyo—local business, civic and government leaders came together in Colorado's largest city to discuss how it can capitalize on its assets to compete in the global marketplace.

Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Kelly J. Brough, Brookings Senior Non-Resident Global Fellow Greg Clark, and Global Cities Chairman and former mayor of Chicago, Richard M. Daley, were among the speakers who touted Denver’s bold efforts to compete on a global scale at the Global Cities forum in late June (top right).
