Starting September 9, America’s Heartland will begin sharing another season of interesting and informative stories about agriculture in America.
Now in its 11th season, the award-winning program covers topics designed to address consumers’ questions and concerns about food safety, animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Some stories feature farmers and ranchers, some talk about agribusinesses and other cover the science behind agriculture and efforts to improve processes and yields.
Over the past 10 seasons, America’s Heartland has captured stories in all 50 states, and accompanied U.S. farmers and their products to overseas destinations like China, Taiwan, Egypt, and Morocco. This season will include 20 new episodes featuring a diversity of products and themes, from California’s fast-growing olive oil industry to value-added sweet potato vodka, from bison farming to an old-fashioned western cattle drive.
Farm Credit is proud to be an underwriter of America’s Heartland to support the sharing of stories about the hard work and ingenuity of America’s agricultural producers. The program helps build awareness and appreciation with rural and urban consumers, educating people nationwide about what it takes to feed a nation.
America’s Heartland airs on PBS and RFD TV (find your local schedule here); episodes are also available online.
